Christian Dior was an influential French fashion designer, known for his elegant and innovative designs. Alongside his famous haute couture, bijoux played an important role in his fashion house.
Dior understood that accessories were an essential part of the overall look of an outfit. He introduced bijoux to complement and enhance his clothing.
Dior's bijoux were often lavish and detailed. They were characterised by the use of imitation pearls, crystals and gilt metals. The designs were often inspired by nature, with floral motifs and organic shapes.
Dior's bijoux made use of various techniques, such as gilding, enamelling and setting crystals. These techniques contributed to the luxurious appearance of the jewellery.
Dior collaborated with talented jewellery designers such as Mitchel Maer and Robert Goossens. These collaborations resulted in iconic pieces that were both innovative and timeless.

Caring for vintage jewelry
Vintage jewelry lasts longest when kept dry and stored separately. Put it on last and take it off first: perfume, hairspray and skin cream all attack the plating.
Polish only with a soft, dry cloth. No water, no soap and no silver polish — that strips the layer off.
