Encouraged by Gianni Versace, the late Franco Moschino founded the Moschino brand in 1983. He became famous for his bold, eccentric designs, gold chains, his use of colour and prints inspired by pop art. He was a controversial figure who criticised the fashion industry and used his collections as campaigns for social awareness.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Moschino's message of 'love and peace' ran continuously through the jewellery of that era, with striking designs such as large gold letters, playful pendants and symbols of love, peace and freedom. Moschino's jewellery was known for its statement look and became an extension of the brand's rebellious and expressive attitude.
Moschino remains the brand for expressive, rebellious women who want to question conventional fashion.
